Join us in Western Australia!

In June, we will leave our home in the Midwest in the hands of trusty friends, and travel down under for a year so that Scott can have his mid-life adventure 🙂

He’s always wanted to work abroad, and so Addie, Frankie, Will, Scott and I will head to Geraldton, about 5 hours north of Perth where he will work in the local hospital.

It’ll be a different lifestyle altogether, and we are really looking forward to it. Geraldton is on the coast, and is a fishing, vacation and shipping community. Western Australia has some of the most spectacular coastline on the planet, and abounds in wildlife and flora of kinds that most of us have never seen before. We understand that our God created all this beauty in His Creation, and we can’t wait to share our experiences with you.

I’m planning to homeschool the kids, getting all their necessary work done in six months. When the Australian school year begins again in February, they can decide whether or not to attend the schools in Geraldton, or if we will continue on with our studies at home. This is new to me, and I’m looking forward to the challenge.

We would ask for your prayers as we travel, and especially as we leave our Cerys at home to attend college.

Our departure date is June 12, flying from St Louis to San Francisco, then onto Sydney and Adelaide, where we will spend some time sightseeing and visiting friends, before we head to the West Coast at the end of the month to our new home.

The following verse has been in my heart for a some time now. I lean a lot on the understanding that our God is ahead of us in this endeavor:

“The LORD himself goes before you and will be with you”
