We spent another couple of days in Kalbarri, and I’ll post some info about that soon, but I wanted to dedicate this post to my wonderful brother Russ, who is the world’s biggest tropical bird fan!
This morning we visited Rainbow Jungle, close to the seaside town of Kalbarri, which is a huge aviary and free flight area for exotic and native birds. They have a breeding program there to replenish some of the birds that are endangered in Western Australia and elsewhere in the country, including that Black Carnaby Cockatoo from this area. They appear to have had great success in breeding the birds in captivity which I believe is a trick.
This is a wonderful place, with huge aviaries, lots of fountains and plants, shady and sunny spots, places to sit and watch, and a free flight area that is amazing, all kinds of colors flying around. God is quite the painter. It was a peaceful, beautiful place to visit. Check it out!
